DEPECHE MODE TO FRIENDS ARENA 23 MAY 2023!

Depeche Mode, chosen in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2020, could by a press conference in Berlin today (4 October 2022) inform us that they are releasing a new album and will embark on a world tour in 2023. The Memento Mori Tour will take place in conjuntion with the bands coming 15th studio album, “Memento Mori”, that will be released Spring 2023. On 23 May Depeche Mode finally comes to Friends Arena in Stockholm!

This is what Martin Gore says about the upcoming album “Memento Mori”:

“We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”

Dave Gahan continues: “Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”

Memento Mori Tour will be Depeche Modes 19th tour and their first in over five years. The band's latest Global Spirit Tour from 2017-2018, became their longest so far and is one of the years most income generating tours where the band played for more than 3 million fans in 130 concerts in Europe and North America. 

“Memento Mori” is the bands 15th album and the sequel to 2017s critically acclaimed "Spirit", that reached #1 in 11 countries and placed top 5 in 20 others. “Memento Mori” will be released worldwide Spring 2023 through Columbia Records.
